# Usual Escape — use

Use an inspected Usual source checkout or extracted source bundle: https://tryusual.com/usual.zip. Run commands from its root. Python 3.11+ for the local runtime.

This website cannot access local files or connect to your agent. These are instructions for the current coding agent. Select explicit source/scope paths with the user. Current instructions control authority; history is not permission. No extra model service or background monitor is required.

## Requirements

A website you can edit; JavaScript enabled

## Install

python3 scripts/usual.py setup install escape --scope /path/to/project

## Configuration

No additional settings. Select the scope explicitly when a command requires it.

## Use

Add to the selected website: <script src="/escape-webview.js" data-auto data-analytics="off" defer></script>
Inspect /escape/demo/ for a forced demonstration. Test on the actual target app/device before claiming support.

## Remove

python3 scripts/usual.py setup disable escape
python3 scripts/usual.py setup remove escape

## Storage

A self-hosted widget reads browser context. Install explicitly into your website; Usual never deploys it.

## Network

Self-hosted script; provided snippet disables analytics. User actions may navigate to the selected URL. No Usual backend or model calls.

## Verification

status: local fixture validation
tested: Synthetic browser user agents and DOM; explicit upstream patch hash; no new physical-device checks.
pending: Real device coverage is limited; synthetic user agents do not prove device behavior.

Installation and behavior verification are separate. Report exactly what was inspected, changed, and tested. Do not claim live agent or device behavior from a deterministic test. Preserve unrelated user changes. Evidence read by a hosted coding agent uses that provider’s normal processing and usage. The local runtime has no telemetry.
